Woven Planet CEO James Kuffner comment

Thanks to everyone's support and cooperation, the project has been able to progress smoothly, even during the pandemic.

Toyota aims for "well-being for all" and we believe our efforts in Woven City will bring us closer to that goal. Just as Toyota tests its cars on a test course, Woven City is a test course for mobility, through invention and kaizen (continuous improvement).

Woven City is a living laboratory where new human-centered goods, services, and systems are developed, tested, and fine-tuned to make everyday life easier, increasingly sustainable, and more enjoyable for all. The practical value generated through demonstrations at Woven City in Susono City will spread throughout the world and be used for generations to come - eventually becoming the future fabric of life.

Today we are launching a new proving ground for the future - everything Woven City is today, and everything it will become is only possible due to the dedication and hard work that came before. The historic legacy of the Higashi-Fuji Plant will always be part of the origin story of Woven City. As we forge ahead to create, develop, and test innovations, we will always continue to strive to be the “best-in-town” company with a local presence that benefits the surrounding community.
